StraitsX has opened onboarding for digital payment token providers across more than 100 markets through an expanded card-issuing architecture developed with Visa. Integration documentation published on 26 October 2026 describes a multi-BIN model that combines issuing sponsorship, transaction authorization, compliance screening and fiat clearing. The approach lets participating providers build stablecoin-backed card products while merchants continue to receive conventional fiat payments through Visa’s network. StraitsX says its card gross transaction value rose 40-fold year on year from Q4 2024 to Q4 2025, while cards issued across Asia increased 83-fold. On-chain issuer telemetry recorded monthly card transaction volume of $310 million to $438 million through October 2026. The company’s stated $6 billion annualized card transaction figure is distinct from its cumulative $70 billion in processed stablecoin volume. StraitsX and Visa have also scheduled demonstrations of agentic payments for November 2026.
Stripe confirmed in October 2026 that it plans to expand its Bridge- and Visa-powered stablecoin card issuing program from 18 initial countries to more than 100 by the end of the year. The planned rollout spans Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. It follows Stripe’s February 2025 acquisition of Bridge, whose APIs connect stablecoin transfers with fiat accounts and bank payouts. Stripe has also made Open USD available to businesses in Stripe Financial Accounts alongside USDC. Its broader stablecoin infrastructure combines Bridge’s conversion tools with Stripe’s existing payment and treasury network and embedded wallets from Privy. Lead Bank supports the card program as a financial institution partner and BIN sponsor. A separate deployment by Ramp uses Bridge APIs and Privy wallets to let businesses pay vendors in stablecoins using funds from fiat bank accounts. Together, the developments show how Stripe is assembling stablecoin services for business payments, while the planned geographic expansion remains unfinished.
CapitalOS completed a $21.9 million Series A financing round on October 21, 2026, led by LGVP. The company plans to expand its engineering team and scale the infrastructure behind its AI-driven money orchestration platform. WEX Venture Capital, Group 11, Great North Ventures, Night Capital and existing early investors also participated. Founded in 2022, CapitalOS helps vertical SaaS and AI platforms offer embedded charge cards, digital wallets and automated bill payments without maintaining in-house licensing or risk operations. Its architecture uses five specialized AI agents across underwriting, capital, compliance, risk and fraud, and support. Property management platform Guesty is an active customer, and CapitalOS reports managing transactions for more than 25,000 active cardholders across dozens of integrated platforms. CapitalOS relies on infrastructure provider Increase and its chartered partner banks rather than replacing depository institutions. The announcement did not disclose a valuation, credit warehouse partner or the identities of its current primary sponsor banks.
StraitsX and Visa are expanding their stablecoin-backed card issuing partnership to more than 100 markets. The framework is designed for fintechs, digital wallet providers and Digital Payment Token service providers that want cardholders to spend from stablecoin balances. Merchants would receive payments through traditional card rails, without needing to accept cryptocurrency. Eligible programs will have access to Visa’s network of more than 175 million merchant locations. StraitsX recorded more than US$6 billion in annualized card gross transaction value across its Asian stablecoin-backed card programs before the planned expansion. The framework includes transaction monitoring and screening tools aimed at anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism risks. No market-by-market launch schedule or launch clients have been announced. Live deployments will depend on regulatory approvals in each jurisdiction and Visa network certification, so the partnership’s geographic scope should not be read as immediate card availability in every market.
Mastercard has launched the Global Money Platform, bringing fiat and stablecoin accounts together with local bank payouts and card spending through a single modular API. The launch is the first major commercial product integration following Mastercard’s acquisition of London-based BVNK, completed in August 2026 for up to $1.8 billion. The platform connects to Mastercard Move, allowing stablecoin balances to fund payouts to local bank accounts across a network spanning more than 17 billion endpoints. Connected card-issuing capabilities are supported in more than 130 countries. Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Bolt Group and Almond FinTech had begun integrating with the platform as of October 15, 2026. Mastercard plans to expand local-currency payout coverage to more than 40 currencies across over 200 countries and territories in 2027. Businesses can also use the platform for treasury management, settlements and cross-border liquidity. The launch comes as Visa advances its own stablecoin capabilities.
