CapitalOS completed a $21.9 million Series A financing round on October 21, 2026, led by LGVP. The company plans to expand its engineering team and scale the infrastructure behind its AI-driven money orchestration platform. WEX Venture Capital, Group 11, Great North Ventures, Night Capital and existing early investors also participated. Founded in 2022, CapitalOS helps vertical SaaS and AI platforms offer embedded charge cards, digital wallets and automated bill payments without maintaining in-house licensing or risk operations. Its architecture uses five specialized AI agents across underwriting, capital, compliance, risk and fraud, and support. Property management platform Guesty is an active customer, and CapitalOS reports managing transactions for more than 25,000 active cardholders across dozens of integrated platforms. CapitalOS relies on infrastructure provider Increase and its chartered partner banks rather than replacing depository institutions. The announcement did not disclose a valuation, credit warehouse partner or the identities of its current primary sponsor banks.

CRB Group, the parent of Cross River Bank, agreed on October 20, 2026, to acquire Accrue, a fintech focused on merchant-branded digital wallets and customer loyalty. Accrue founder and CEO Michael Hershfield and his team are expected to join Cross River to lead its embedded wallet and loyalty offerings when the deal closes. Financial terms and a completion date have not been disclosed, and the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions. The companies already had a banking relationship: Cross River held deposited funds and issued Visa debit cards for Accrue programs. The acquisition would bring Accrue’s wallet capabilities into that existing arrangement. Closed-loop wallets can keep payments and refunds within a merchant’s branded balance, offering an alternative to routing every transaction through card networks. The deal also illustrates why embedded finance providers are looking beyond payment-processing margins toward wallet software and stored-value services, though the companies have not disclosed the acquisition’s expected financial impact.

ScribeUp has announced a $13 million Series A financing round led by Curql, comprising $10 million in equity and a $3 million venture debt facility. The company disclosed the round in October 2026 alongside the Money20/20 conference in Las Vegas. Mucker Capital and Service Ventures also participated. The distinction between equity and debt matters: the $13 million figure describes the combined financing, not an all-equity investment. ScribeUp provides embedded recurring bill management tools for financial institutions. Its platform tracks and processes obligations across approximately 200,000 unique subscription billers and can be integrated into digital banking apps through an SDK, iframe or API. It works with more than 60 community banks, credit unions, fintechs and neobanks. The company plans to use the financing to expand its team, scale its go-to-market efforts among banks and credit unions, and accelerate development of agentic AI execution tools.
